The detail
What does Low-E glass actually do?
Low-E (low emissivity) glass has a microscopically thin coating that reflects infrared and ultraviolet light while letting visible light through. Plain glass is a poor insulator; Low-E is the starting point for every window we sell, then each unit is sealed with argon gas between the panes to slow heat moving through.
What is a retrofit window?
A retrofit window fits into the existing frame opening without tearing out stucco around it. It is the usual choice for stucco homes in Southern California because it keeps the job cleaner and faster than a full new-construction install.
